Establishing our Lewes, Delaware satellite office, Marylou Wellbrock-Reeves CFP® joined Glen Eagle Advisors, LLC in 2018. Prior to that time, Marylou was President of Thomas Mack Associates, Inc., a fee-only financial planning and investment management practice located for over thirty years in Rockaway, New Jersey, and recently of Lewes, Delaware.
After graduating from Rider University, Marylou began her career in the Personal Financial Planning Division of E.F. Hutton and Company, Inc., in New York City where she received extensive training in tax, investment, financial, and estate planning. Later, Marylou joined the Summit Trust Company in Summit, New Jersey to help form their Personal Financial Planning Department, one of the first such programs sponsored by a bank in the State of New Jersey. In 1988, and shortly after earning her Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation, Marylou opened her own financial planning practice, Thomas Mack Associates, Inc.
Over her career, Marylou has conducted several financial planning workshops and seminars and for many years, Marylou contributed to columns in the Morris County, New Jersey Daily Record. Marylou has also been a featured writer in Renaissance Magazine, a bimonthly publication for Morris County Senior Citizens. In the past, Marylou has instructed a course on Personal Finance for People in Transition as well as Financial Planning for Seniors at County College of Morris (CCM) in New Jersey and also has been a guest speaker as part of the Rutgers Cooperative personal finance program. Although she works with many retirees, pre-retirees, widows, and divorcees, Marylou also works with individuals who have come into sudden wealth from an inheritance, a severance package, or those facing any type of financial transition.
Marylou is an active member of her community. She is an Intake volunteer at the Community Resource Center, which builds bridges for neighbors in need. She is on the Alumna Council at the Dana Hall School and on the Finance Committee with the City of Lewes. At St. Peter’s Church, one of the oldest churches in Delaware, she is on the Finance Committee and active on the Open Door Committee, Capital Campaign. She is also a Stephen Minister in training at St. Peters.
Marylou has owned a home in Lewes, Delaware since 2001, but only recently moved there full time. Joining her New Jersey friend, CEO Susan Michel, at Glen Eagle, allows Marylou to continue to work with her New Jersey clients while growing her practice in Delaware with access to Glen Eagle’s investment research, administrative, operational, and technology support.
