- A recent survey of American CEOs shows less optimism about the future. Only 26% of respondents plan to increase capital spending, and 29% expect to hire more employees —down sharply from 56% and 60%, respectively, in January. 1
- While 71% of Amazon’s third-party sellers source products from China, the company is partially protected from tariffs thanks to its Web Services (AWS), which made up 58% of operating profit in 2024 despite representing just 17% of revenue. 2
- The S&P 500's 16.9% drop from Inauguration Day to April 8 was the most significant 55-day decline into a Presidential term since 1928. The next worst was a 16% drop in early 2001 during George W. Bush's first term. *3
