Rapid Rebound
June 30, 2025
Enjoy this week's "Investor Insights," a weekly newsletter that highlights the financial news you need and provides tips and tricks for making better investment decisions.
- The S&P 500 hit a new high Friday, up 24% since April’s tariff-driven drop. It was the fastest rebound from a 15%+ decline in history, taking just 89 trading days. *1
- Investors seem to have anticipated the new budget bill in Congress, which reduces solar subsidies and increases support for nuclear power. Since the 2024 election, the Solar ETF (TAN) has declined by 23%, while the Nuclear ETF (NLR) has increased by 24%. *2
- About 1 in 3 baby boomers say they’ll never sell their home, and 88% own single-family houses. With home prices up around 40% since before the pandemic and mortgage rates near 7%, younger Americans are struggling to afford family-sized homes. 3
- Couples have a 75% chance that at least one partner will require long-term care. By 2045, when today’s 65-year-olds are likely to enter a nursing home, the average cost is expected to be $197,000, with that figure rising to $402,000 in higher-cost areas, such as Boston. 4
