Enjoy this week's "Investor Insights," a weekly newsletter that highlights the financial news you need and provides tips and tricks for making better investment decisions.
- Among Americans over 60, wealth strongly impacts longevity: the top 10% have about $2.5M in net worth and live to around 85, while the bottom 20% live to just 76. 1
- Average new-vehicle prices hit $50,080 in September, up 3.6% year-over-year. Prices have jumped from around $40,000 five years ago, driven by chip shortages and new 25% tariffs on imported cars. 2
- In an Oct. 14 filing, Jeff Bezos disclosed owning 9% of Amazon (AMZN), dropping below 10% for the first time. He owned over 43% when Amazon went public in 1997. 3
- In 2024, just 1.1 million Americans bought their first home—about half the historical average and the lowest in over 20 years. Only 16% of Gen Z owns a home, but 37% have investment accounts, up from 6% in 2015. 3
